Why Silverseas for Southeast Asia ?

WINE SERIES VOYAGE
Enjoy lectures, tastings and optional private tours to renowned vineyards & world-class wineries — a famous château in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, for example, or a winery in the Barossa Valley in Australia. On board, you’ll enjoy an extensive selection of fine red & white wine pairings with both lunch and dinner.
L’ÉCOLE DES CHEFS BY RELAIS & CHÂTEAUX
On this voyage Silversea guests can experience a unique cooking school concept, L’École des Chefs by Relais & Châteaux. A broad curriculum of tantalising culinary events has been designed exclusively for Silversea by Relais & Châteaux.
Cooking Demonstrations — Watch the chef at work creating his favourite dishes, which are then paired with the perfect wine by the head sommelier.
Lunch & Learn — Join a small group of fellow epicureans at this intimate cooking and lunching event. The chef will demonstrate preparation of your appetiser, main course and dessert, serving each course while preparing the next.
Market to Plate — Embark on a market tour to shop for fresh ingredients that will later be skilfully transformed into masterpieces of regional specialities — either during a cooking class on board or at an actual Relais & Châteaux property. This unique shoreside event is offered in select ports only.
Cooking Competitions — Guests will be entertained and educated by inspiring cooking demonstrations that showcase the very best in culinary finesse.
Knife Skills Workshop – Learn and practice expert cutting techiniques
And while you’re ‘learning’ you’ll also be cruising!
Day 1 Singapore
The main island of Singapore is shaped like a flattened diamond. Near the northern peak is the causeway leading to West Malaysia—Kuala Lumpur is less than four hours away by car. It is at the southern foot where you will find most of the city-state’s action, with its gleaming office towers, working docks, and futuristic “supertrees,” which are solar-powered and serve as vertical gardens. Offshore are Sentosa and over 60 smaller islands, most uninhabited, that serve as bases for oil refining or as playgrounds and beach escapes from the city.
Day 2 Kuantan
Tiny fishing boats bob gently on the turquoise water off the brilliant beaches at Kuantan, which is a relaxed and inviting destination, boasting ever-warm temperatures. Spot monkeys clambering up the trunks of the trees that stand just behind the gorgeous Teluk Chempedak beach, or relax on arcs of golden sand, listening to the gentle waves of the rich blue South China Sea, ruffling against pretty piles of boulders.
Day 3 At Sea
While we’re at sea, enjoy wine tastings, designer boutiques, language and dance classes. Take in a matinee movie or check the market, or just relax. The choice is yours.
Day 4 Bangkok (Klong Toey)
Bangkok, also known as the City of Angels and Venice of the East thrills with energy. There’s such a vast array of sightseeing, shopping, and eating possibilities that you’ll have little time to rest. When you do find a moment, pamper yourself with spa treatments, skyline-view bars and excellent restaurants. The city is a mesmerizing blend of old and new, East and West, and dizzying contradictions. Temples and red-light districts, languid canals and permanent gridlock, streetside vendors and chic upscale eateries, all make their home together, all at the same time.
Day 5 Koh Samui
This is the most popular tourist destination on the Western Gulf coast, which isn’t surprising, considering Koh Samui’s gorgeous beaches, perfect weather, and sparkling blue, almost turquoise, water. Koh Samui has seen rapid development since the 1990’s. Koh Samui is best appreciated by those who take a slow and casual approach. Most people come for the sun and sea. Every beach has its own unique character, and with a little exploration you may find the one for you.
Day 6 At Sea
Today you might want to catch up on your e-mail in the Internet Point, slip away with a novel from the library to a sunny chaise or with a movie to your suite. Or just take in the sun pool side. The choice is yours.
Day 7 Singapore
You can stay for awhile and keep touring around or head home today.
